Can I Still Have A Gathering or Visitation Service If I Choose Cremation?

Many people are under the misconception that they cannot conduct a visitation before cremation and this makes them hesitate to make a decision. During a visitation, friends and family pay their respects to the deceased. In many ways, this helps the healing process and without a visitation, the path to recovering from the loss can be more challenging for many.

How To Conduct a Visitation When You Choose Cremation

However, you can have a visitation before cremation, and some options you can choose from include:

  1. If you need to wait for family members to travel, before cremating the body of a deceased loved one, you can embalm the body.

  2. Proper planning is crucial to ensure the visitation is completed quickly- You can plan the embalming in advance and that gives all your family members the chance to say farewell to your loved one. It’s far more straightforward to plan a visitation for a handful of people.

  3. You can conduct a memorial service or gathering after cremation as well. This is because you will be given the ashes after the person’s mortal remains have been cremated. You can keep the urn at the memorial service venue and family and friends can pay their respects to the departed soul.

As you can see, it is possible to conduct a visitation or memorial service even when a person is cremated after their death. If you have any doubt about the process of cremation, you can discuss these things with our professionals at Cremation Care Centre.

They will provide you with all the information and details you need to make an informed decision. For more information about our services, call Cremation Care Centre at 416-255-0035. You can also use this online form and we will call you shortly to answer your questions.
